"Aesthetics of the broken" series

let us celebrate the beauty in the broken.

society wastes too much time on what they believe is aesthetically pleasing to the people, through glossy magazines, silver gaudy sculptures around the business district, or encouraging people to "perfect" their "imperfections" (or "imperfect" their unique "perfections", however you will take it) by injecting poisons into their otherwise healthy beautiful bodies.

take a moment to ask yourself, what is more beautiful? your best friend, your mother, or your father may be more beautiful to you than the hollywood stars. nature has created more beauty in its inconsistent and chaotic use of colours and lines, than all of the man-made structures on the earth. there is beauty in poetry and songs, inspired by the pained heart of the artist, compared to advertising jingles on the radio. and what of a kind and helpful gesture? this is what makes people shine, rather than their polished red convertibles.

to conclude, william blake captures it nicely in "auguries of innocence".

"To see the world in a grain of sand
And heaven in a wild flower
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour"

this was the inpsiration behind the "aesthetics of the broken" series of artwork. we are selling high quality framed canvas prints of the series, at $150 for standard size (approx A3 page for an idea). these make personal and unique gifts for birthdays, weddings, or just because you love them. email almaphotography@mail.com or phone 0422260803 to place your order.
